Individual Therapy
Hi…my name is Molly Downs-Stoller. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist who lives in San Diego with my wonderful wife Sue, and our dog Sir Andrew James. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Point Loma Nazarene University and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and have seen the healing power that therapy can truly bring! I became a therapist so I could join others in the difficult stories and experiences in their lives and help them find clarity and freedom in those places. I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and crisis intervention. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Level 2 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS).
The journey that we walk as part of the LGBTQIA community can be a difficult one, however, it doesn’t have to be a lonely one. I’m a “later in life” lesbian and didn't realize it until I met my amazing wife, Sue.. As a result of coming out, I ended up losing my church, my best friend, and my goddaughter, however, I have never been happier or felt as free as I do now. I needed supportive/affirming friends and an affirming therapist to help me get to the other side of my loss and confusion and now I have the chance to walk alongside others. I have been working in full-time private practice with queer folks for many years now and I’m so excited to also work alongside my wife, so we can guide others in their journey. Contact me for a free 15 min phone consult and let’s see if we’re a good fit!
